The Alfred Heineken Fondsen Foundation is embracing a new chapter to ensure the continued legacy of its prestigious arts and science awards. To help advance this mission, the Foundation has warmly welcomed Charles de Carvalho and Alexander Rinnooy Kan to its Board.

As part of its strategy, the Foundation will present the two award series-the Heineken Prizes and the Heineken Young Scientists Awards-as separate events, alternating annually. By giving each a dedicated platform, the Foundation honours the unique character and social value of the Heineken Prizes and the Heineken Young Scientists Awards. It also allows for greater visibility and recognition of the awards and their laureates.

The next Heineken Young Scientists Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, 1 October 2026. Nominations open on 2 June 2025.

The next Heineken Prizes ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 30th, 2027. Nominations will open at the end of May 2026.

Through these developments, the Alfred Heineken Fondsen Foundation continues to champion excellence, independence and impact in science and the arts.
