The Alfred Heineken Fondsen Foundation has established a Scientific Advisory Council (SAC) for the Heineken Prizes and the Heineken Young Scientists Awards.
The Council is chaired by Robbert Dijkgraaf (University of Amsterdam). Its members are Hans Clevers (Hubrechts Institute), José van Dijck (Utrecht University) and Ben Feringa (University of Groningen).
The SAC advises the Board on the scientific framework of the awards, including the appointment of jury chairs, the breadth of expertise across prize domains, and scientific developments relevant to the future of the prizes. The Council serves in an advisory capacity; the Board retains formal responsibility for decisions and appointments.
