The call for nominations of the 2022 edition of the Heineken Prizes is now open. Every two years, we award five major prizes in science to leading international scientists and one prize to a talented visual artist structurally working in the Netherlands. The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) is responsible for the nomination and selection process. You will find more information about the regulations of the Heineken Prizes here. The deadline for nominations is 15 September 2021.
Each of the scientific prizes in the fields of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Medicine, History, Environmental Sciences and Cognitive Science, includes a monetary award of 200,000 US Dollars. The artist receives EUR 100,000, half of which is intended for a publication and/or exhibition. The Heineken Prizes for Sciences are funded by the Alfred Heineken Fondsen Foundation. The Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Art is funded by the Dr A.H. Heineken Foundation for Art.
The awards ceremony will be held late 2022.
